Hello, GFP enthusiasts


I am a fresh postdoc, trying to find my way in the new and exciting world of fluorescent microscopy. I’ve been reading about the subject for the past couple of days, and realized that the best way to learn the subject is to write about it. Hence – this blog.

At the beginning, at least, I will use this blog to teach myself. Once I’m better acquainted with the field, I’ll probably go into fields not directly related to my research.

I will discuss here basic topics like fluorescent molecules, fluorescent proteins, old and new fluorescent microscopy techniques and their applications in biology. In between, I’ll discuss recently published research that uses interesting or unique fluorescent microscopy methods, or uses these methods to gain unique and novel insight in biology.

So, here we go…
